Antoine Laguerre studied philosophy and cinema at the Sorbonne (Paris IV). He entered the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (EPHE) 5th section in 1983 under the direction of Jean Rouch at the audiovisual anthropology laboratory.
After working in the film industry with Claude Chabrol, he turned to documentary film. At the same time he worked as a journalist and photographer for the magazine Jazz-Hot, Le Monde de la Musique and Libération.
For 24 years, he has directed more than twenty documentaries for TF1, France 3, France 5, ARTE, Canal+, DISCOVERY Channel, TV GLOBO, France Ô, Paris Première, Equidia, Escales, Ushuaia TV, Trek, Voyage, Nouvo and Spicee for the web.
He has participated in numerous television magazines such as Thalassa, l'Effet Papillon, Dimanche+, Le grand Mag, Recto-Verso, Mégamix, Tracks, Avis de tempête, 66'...
